Love this product, I bought it after my great experience with the Brick. It has been a great tool for me after transitioning from pool swim to ocean swimming. I use it mostly to focus on my catch in the water and focus my core throughout the swim !

I bought the Brick and Mortar for my 15 year old son. His coach had never heard of them and after one practice, his coach told him to never bring his other kickboard and pull buoy back. His teammates have tried to use them and have failed! They've really improved his core strength and positioning in the water. His coach also makes the team hold their gear bags over their heads for vertical kicking, needless to say my son's arms hurt afterwards!

I love this weighted buoy! I enjoy pulling in general but having the added weight makes it extra fun. I train for triathlon and go to masters swim multiple times a week and this is a great addition to my training!

As a masters swimmer, I am super excited to use the mortar. After years of using a traditional pull buoy and gaining no benefit, the mortar creates a challenge during pull sets while providing a more natural body position in the water, I can definitely feel my core muscles getting stronger!

The Mortar is awesome! It definitely engages your core and forces you to think about maintaining good body position. I would highly recommend it to anyone who is looking to get more out of their pull sets and gain a competitive edge. Another great product from Fike Swim!

If not the best pull buoy on the planet, I believe the Mortar is close to it. The added weight in the Mortar causes the legs and hips to drop slightly lower in the water and, in turn, creates a planing effect like no other pull buoy. My stroke counts per length for both backstroke and breaststroke have decreased by 5-10% when using the Mortar versus a regular pull buoy. I am not a strong freestyler so did not notice any improvement in stroke count but did feel like my torso was getting a terrific workout. There is no question in my mind that the Mortar has an immediate effect on improved swimming technique. Go for it...you'll love it!

I myself am not a swimmer, but bought this for my son who is a swimmer. He had tried the brick during a workout with his coach and loved how the brick forced him to work his core and his body position in the water. He wanted to have one himself to use when he is not in season. While we were visiting the website, we saw the Mortar also. He had never tried it, but figured it would be just as awesome as the brick. He has not been disappointed. It allows him to get a harder workout in the same amount of time as using a regular pull buoy. His summer swim coaches swim at the college level and they were impressed on how much the mortar worked the core. This is definitely worth the investment.

I love The Mortar! Even more than The Brick. Forces engagement of core muscles and works the turns. I sometimes pull with a tube and The Mortar has the same effect, but maintains better body position and is easier to put on and transition. I can also pull backstroke with The Mortar much more effectively and maintain better body position than with a tube. The Mortar is definitely more tiring than a regular pull buoy, but still allows solid body position. It's also fun to see people's reaction when you hand them The Mortar. Great product! Great training tool! Keep 'em coming!
